Gold Bull Sponsor Feature Story
SGX Bull Charge, a flagship fundraising initiative of the Singapore Exchange, has been hugely successful over the last 16 years raising more than S$39 million benefitting some 50 charities. This is made possible with the continued support of our corporate sponsors and listed companies. Among those who have consistently supported its efforts is Bank of America, a returning Gold Bull sponsor for this year’s SGX Bull Charge Virtual Charity Run. For the past 16 years, Bank of America executives and employees have actively participated in the annual charity run.
Bank of America drives responsible growth with a strong focus on environmental, social and governance (ESG) leadership. This enables them to serve clients, deliver returns for their shareholders and address some of society’s greatest challenges. Their focus on ESG helps them to define how they mobilise capital and resources, informs their business practices and helps determine how and when the bank uses its voice in support of its values.
Through their employee giving and volunteering programs, the bank helps its employees support the causes they are passionate about, allowing the bank and its employees to work towards the goal of building more sustainable communities.
Bank of America employees have a long history of volunteering with Singapore NGOs.
The bank is considered a paragon on how companies can integrate ESG practices into their businesses. In fact, it was named the World’s Best Bank for Corporate Social Responsibility in the 2015, 2017 and 2020 Euromoney Awards for Excellence. The global corporate responsibility award is presented to the firm that demonstrates a strong commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion; reducing environmental impact; promoting workforce development and social mobility; strengthening local communities; and promoting ethical business practices.

Bank of America believes in deploying its capital and resources to address societal issues such as poverty to help local communities thrive. Its works with various non-profit organisations to provide beneficiaries with access to basic needs such as food and education.
As one of the SGX Bull Charge sponsors, it supported AWWA’s relaunch of its fleet of vans helping children with special needs, along with their caregivers, to commute to school more conveniently. Because of the continued support and generosity of Bank of America, special-needs children now have access to in-class learning through special learning devices in a conducive learning environment. Bank of America employees are also regular volunteers with AWWA’s beneficiaries.

Bank of America has a large presence in Singapore with more than 1,800 employees. It has participated in the SGX Bull Charge for more than 17 years and each year, the organisation receives overwhelming response from their employees.
It also stresses the importance of health awareness, inspiring each employee to improve their wellness. SGX Bull Charge Charity Run provides a great opportunity to support these efforts, and a way to support the local communities and at the same time focusing on their employees’ well-being.
Aside from their annual participation in the SGX Bull Charge Charity Run, employees from Bank of America go the extra mile by making additional contributions to AWWA, one of their charity partners.
As in previous years, its senior leaders will participate in the 3-kilometer Chief Challenge with its contingent of more than 400 employees in the Mass Run.
