CNBC places all hands on deck to give back to the community
CNBC is a worldwide network that provides real-time financial market coverage and business information. Uniquely positioned to speak to viewers from across the region, CNBC looks forward to leveraging its global reach to advocate for diversity, equality, and inclusion.
Keeping their participation streak going with SGX Cares Bull Charge, CNBC has taken yet another leap forward in their continual efforts to help the underprivileged by taking part in this year’s Virtual Charity Run. CNBC looks to continue their hands-on approach to giving back to the community for many more years to come.
Providing mentorship and career guidance to young students
As a recognized world leader in the media industry, CNBC is always looking to nurture a new generation of leaders in their field. Partnering with Junior Achievement Singapore, CNBC offers mentorship to aspiring media students, providing avenues for young minds to learn more about journalism.
CNBC also works with the LSA academy in London, promoting careers in TV and film, as well as teaming up with Amos Bursary, an organisation that works with talented young men of African and Caribbean descent to ensure they have the opportunity to excel in education and beyond.
Hands-on volunteering for a good cause
As part of NBCUniversal, CNBC regularly participates in NBCU Service Weeks, where employees volunteer at various organisations, taking time off work to give back to their communities. Spearheaded by NBCUniversal, these initiatives are an opportunity for CNBC to give back to more than just the people in their community.
2021 – Cleaning the kennels at Causes for Dog
Working with Mutts and Mittens and Causes for Animals, the team extended a helping hand to animals in need. Cleaning of living areas, washing feeding bowls, and socialising with the animals were just some of the valuable tasks that NBCUniversal, CNBC, and their volunteers were able to experience first-hand.
2021 – CNBC and NBCUni volunteers packing distribution bags at Food From the Heart
Working with Willing Hearts and Food From The Heart, the NBCUniversal and CNBC volunteers took on the role of an operations team that ensures that the food prepared is ready for distribution to feed the needy. The team lent a helping hand in the kitchens, cutting vegetables and sorting food appropriately to be distributed to underprivileged families. They also ensured that all food items were not expired and played a vital role in packing and packaging the food.
Partnering with Food From The Heart, NBCUniversal and CNBC also helped organise an annual Toy Buffet, where funds were raised to buy toys for underprivileged children.
2019 – Elderly bonding sessions at Thye Hua Kwan Moral Charities
Additionally, the CNBC team joined the NBCUniversal team to support their initiative with Thye Hua Kwan Moral Charities by visiting one of their Seniors Activity Centres and providing the elderly with an avenue for social, recreational and active ageing activities.
2021 – Beach Clean-up
NBCUniversal and CNBC also work to give back to Mother Earth. Every National Day, they celebrate by having a beach clean up along East Coast Park, clearing the area of any litter and ensuring that our beaches remain clean and natural.
Adding on to CNBC’s efforts to help the underprivileged
With their multifaceted approach to giving back to the community, CNBC looks to further extend their helping hand as a long-time partner of the SGX Cares Bull Charge initiatives and continuing their extensive efforts in helping the underprivileged.
