SGX Bull Charge Stock Challenge - Do Good & Have Fun!

Jointly organised by SGX and InvestingNote, the SGX Bull Charge’s inaugural stock challenge will see finance professionals put their trading knowledge to the test!

The Challenge

Using real market data, participants will be given a virtual capital of S$50,000 to invest. The participant with the highest returns on investment at the end of the challenge wins!

Highest absolute returns on portfolio on last trading day (Cash on hand + market value of shares on last trading day)

Terms & Conditions

The following terms and conditions (the “Terms & Conditions”) shall apply to the SGX Bull Charge ‘Stock Challenge’ Campaign (the “Campaign”).

1. Campaign Period

     1.1.        Registration will begin from 1 August 2018 to 15 August 2018, and the ‘Stock Challenge’ will be conducted from 16 August 2018 to 31 October 2018 (5pm), both dates inclusive (the “Campaign Period”).

     1.2.        The Campaign may be withdrawn earlier by Singapore Exchange Limited (“SGX”) at any time without prior notice.

2. Eligibility and Entry

     2.1.       The Campaign is open to any persons who are finance professionals and are at least 18 years of age (“Participants”). Finance professionals may include financial bloggers, trading representatives/remisiers/brokers, fund managers, research analysts and financial advisors.

     2.2.       To participate in the Campaign, participants are required to carry out the following:-

(a) Register on the Campaign Microsite (https://bullcharge.sgx.com/stock-challenge) (the “Microsite”) within the Campaign Period;

(b) As per Article 2.2(a), financial bloggers are required to provide the blog URL, and finance professionals are required to provide the name of the employer.

(c) Build a simulated investment portfolio with a virtual initial capital of fifty thousand Singapore dollars (S$50,000) through trading any securities products listed on SGX within the Campaign Period.

     2.3.       Securities products may include Common Stocks, Daily Leverage Certificates (DLCs), Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) and Structured Warrants with a Singapore underlying. Non-securities products, including Derivatives and Fixed Income, shall not be traded in this Campaign.

     2.4.       Each participant is only eligible for one (1) virtual trading account. Any participant who creates more than one (1) account shall be considered in breach of the Campaign Terms & Conditions and shall be disqualified from the Campaign.

     2.5.       Employees of SGX, their immediate family members, marketing and advertising agencies of SGX, and any other parties directly involved in organising, promoting, or conducting the Campaign are ineligible to participate in the Campaign.

3. Details of the Campaign

     3.1.       Each participant is required to have a minimum of one (1) trade within the Campaign Period.

     3.2.       Participants are only allowed to trade stocks that are trading above 20 cents as of 31 July 2018.

     3.3.       Trading is by market order only. No advanced limit/stop order is allowed.

     3.4.       No odd lot may be traded.

     3.5.       No short selling is allowed (except the DLCs and Put Warrants).

     3.6.       No margin account is allowed.

     3.7.       Every trade is subject to a fixed commission rate of S$10 and a 0.08% per trade.  

     3.8.       Dividend and stock split (if any) will be taken into consideration. Any dividend income will be payable to the participants’ virtual account based on the ex-dividend date.

     3.9        In case of any rights or warrants issue by the listed company, participants need to close their position before the issue.

     3.10.     In the event that any securities products in the participant’s portfolio is suspended and halt at any point in time during the Campaign Period, the holdings of these securities will be calculated based on the last traded value.

     3.11.     During the Campaign Period, a leaderboard showing the most updated results of participants will be shown on the Microsite and InvestingNote.com respectively. The leaderboard will be updated on a weekly basis.

     3.12.     During the campaign period, the participants’ portfolios will be set to ‘public’ and will be visible to external visitors.

4. Winner and Prizes for Donation

     4.1.       There will only be one (1) winner:-

The Most Profitable: The winner will be selected based on the simulated investment portfolio with the most capital gains at the end of the Campaign (5:00pm, 31 October 2018) and the announcement will be made on 19 November 2018.

The winner will win a prize trophy and SGX shall donate S$10,000 on behalf of the winner to a SGX-endorsed beneficiary.

     4.3.       The winner will be announced on the Microsite on 19 November 2018, on SGX | My Gateway Facebook page, and on InvestingNote.com. The winner will also be notified via email.

     4.5.       The winner will be invited to a prize presentation ceremony at the SGX Bull Charge Run 2018 that will be held on 30 November 2018.

     4.6.       Prizes are not transferable, not for sale and may not be deferred, changed or exchanged for cash or any other item. There shall be no refund for any partially used prize.

     4.7.       The donation is not tax deductible for the winner. SGX shall not be responsible to issue receipt or any proof of donation for the winner’s tax deductible purpose.

     4.8.       The winner is solely responsible for all fees, costs, expenses (including travel and related expenses to and/or in Singapore) and arrangements incurred by a winner for attending the cheque presentation ceremony.

     4.9.       Prizes are subject to change at any time at the sole discretion of SGX and any change shall be final and binding upon every participant.

5. General Terms and Conditions

     5.1.       By participating in the Campaign, participants shall be deemed to have read, understood, accepted and be bound by (i) these Terms and Conditions; (ii) the General Terms and Conditions of websites/webpages owned by SGX; and (iii) the Terms of Service of InvestingNote.com.

     5.2.       The participant hereby confirms, represents and warrants that such participant is not and will not be in breach of any law in such participant’s country of residence or other applicable law regarding the legality of entering into and participating in the Campaign. SGX, its affiliates, partners, sponsors, service providers and their respective employees, officers, agents and representatives, shall not be responsible or liable for the participants in the Campaign in breach of such laws. Each participant is advised to check and seek relevant advice on the applicable laws before participating in the Campaign.

     5.3.       The participant consents and authorises SGX to collect, store, use and disclose the information provided by such participant or collected during or after Campaign (including name, contact details, email addresses and other personal data and information) for the purpose of or in connection with the Campaign and ancillary purposes, including without limitation the following: (i) planning and administration of the Campaign; (ii) promotion, advertising and/or marketing the Campaign (present or future) and/or other events and activities organised or sponsored by SGX, SGX Academy and SGX affiliates (including the use and inclusion of such information in public relations events and publications and materials prepared by SGX and its affiliates in any medium); (iii) compilation of statistical information relating to the Campaign; and (iv) keeping each participant informed and updated about the Campaign (present or future) and/or other events and activities organised or sponsored by SGX, SGX Academy and SGX affiliates.

     5.4.       SGX reserves the right to withdraw or cancel the Campaign or to amend or change these Terms and Conditions at any time for whatever reason and without giving prior notice to the participants. The decision of RWS on all matters relating to or in connection with the Campaign is final, and no correspondence will be entertained.

     5.5.       SGX reserves the right to publish any participants’ images and details on SGX’ channels for any purpose whatsoever without having to pay any fee or compensation to the participants.

     5.6.       Participants shall fully indemnify and hold SGX harmless from and against any loss, damage, cost, liability or expense (including legal fees), whether direct or indirect, which SGX incurs in respect of, in connection with and/or arising from the participant’s breach of these Terms and Conditions.

     5.7.       In the event of any inconsistency or discrepancy between these Term and Conditions and the contents on any marketing and/or promotional materials pertaining to the Campaign, these Terms and Conditions shall prevail.

     5.8.       Participants who breach any of these Terms and Conditions shall automatically be disqualified from the Campaign.

     5.9.       These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with Singapore law. The Courts of Singapore shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising from these Terms and Conditions, including the validity and enforceability thereof.

     5.10.     A person who is not a party to any agreement governed by these Terms and Conditions shall have no right under the Contracts (Right of Third Parties) Act (Cap 53B) to enforce any of these Terms and Conditions.
