Gold Bull Sponsor Feature Story
Corporate Social Responsibility at ICBC
Established in 1984, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) consciously unified social responsibilities into its development strategy and operation and management activities. In the years since, the bank has gained wide social recognition by supporting targeted poverty relief, protecting environment and resources, participating in social and public welfare undertakings and promoting inclusive finance. Since its establishment, ICBC has been presented with numerous prestigious awards for corporate social responsibility.
A history of helping the less fortunate in Singapore
Here in Singapore, ICBC has been a strong advocate of helping the less fortunate and supporting vulnerable groups of people through sporting events. As reported in the Straits Times, “In 2016, to celebrate the warm relations between Singapore and China and raise funds for the President’s Challenge charities, Singapore Press Holdings’ (SPH) Chinese Media Group organised the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) Charity Cup Basketball Tournament, which took place at the Singapore Basketball Centre.”
The Charity Cup pitted teams from ICBC, SPH, the Basketball Association of Singapore (BAS) and the Chinese Embassy in Singapore against each other in a series of friendly matches.
